A mattress war is impending, whose side are you on? Old mattress rivals, Simmons and Sealy have a little bit more in common, and Simmons probably isn't too happy about it. You see, Simmons is well known for their mattresses having their coils fabric tucked into fabric cylinders. Sealy, on the other hand, is well known for using coils laced together by wire. But here is where things get tricky, Sealy just introduced a new line to its Posturepedic mattresses, one that has its coils tucked into fabric cylinders. That's right, the coils will be tucked into the fabric cylinders! Just like Simmons!
Is this simply friendly competition or Sealy trying to take down their arch rivals in Simmons? Is this Sealy acknowledging that maybe Simmons mattresses are superior? Who knows. This is just straight up competition. It's like Coke vs. Pepsi. Dr. Pepper vs. Mr. Pibb. Sprite vs. 7-Up. This is serious business. Hopefully, as these companies continue to improve their mattresses, the real winner will be the consumers.
